Michael has been a fan of co-ops and a student of democratic governance since 1997, when he was hired at T.P.S.S. Co-op in Takoma Park, MD.  As Front-end Manager there, he helped to implement the co-op's first POS system, developed staff training, and participated in business management decisions. His fondest memories of the co-op are working in the produce department, keeping the veggies looking fresh and colorful, and cutting and wrapping cheese.

After several years at a (technology) worker co-op, Michael co-founded a consulting firm and specialized in community engagement and mobilizing for nonprofits and professional associations. His leadership experience includes serving as board president for a condo association, budgeting, planning, managing vendor relationships, and capacity building.

When he's not at a computer, you will find him in the garden, in a canoe, on a bike, or doing Tai Chi Chuan.
